How to Remove Locked Widgets in Blogger?

Some time you want to remove a widget in your Blogger Template layout. But the widget has no remove option. This type of widget known as locked widget. There may be number of widgets in your template and it is very tough to arrange them when widgets are locked. Some widgets also here having no actual effect or appearance on your blog website.Are you want to remove these widgets? Two methods for removing locked widgets are given below:

Method 1: Unlock the widget and Remove

1. Sign in to Blogger Dashboard
2. Go to Tempkate --> Edit HTML
3. Press "Jump to Widget" and from dropdown Select Widget you want to remove
4. A blinking line will show in row showing this is widget you have selected

<b:widget id='PopularPosts1' locked='true' title='Popular Posts' type='PopularPosts'/>

Change true to false and Save Template.Go to Layout and Remove widget showing remove option now!!

Method 2: Remove Widget Code from Template

• In this method we remove complete code of widget from template instead of unlocking the widget.
• Remove the code you find in step 4 above

<b:widget id='PopularPosts1' locked='true' title='Popular Posts' type='PopularPosts'/>

• Save your Template. Now you will see Warning message
Warning: Your new template does not include the following widgets:
• Click on Delete Widgets showing below the warning.
